The Home Care & Hospice Association of NJ
Committee and Work Groups

As a member of the Association, we encourage our members to join our committees and work groups. Your involvement will ensure that your opinions and concerns are being addressed, offer the opportunity to assist with program planning, educational opportunities, and to be an integral part of shaping the direction of the Association. Descriptions of the individual committees and work groups can be found below.

COMMITTEES 

BILLING MANAGERS COMMITTEE
Chair: Amy Fulton, FGA
Vice Chair: Will Boyd, BAYADA Home Health Care

The Billing Managers Committee focuses on issues related to billing & collections and develops educational programming for this specialty group.       

EDUCATION COMMITTEE 

Chair: Ann Marie Wisla, Holy Redeemer

The Education Committee assists with the planning and development of education programs, including the Annual Conference, which meets the needs of our diverse membership.    
     
FISCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Co-Chair: Kathy Miller, Moorestown VNA
Co-Chair: John Morris, FGA, Inc.

The Fiscal Advisory Committee reviews state & national fiscal home care issues, develops recommendations for action, and promotes CFO/ CEO education on fiscal management. 

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Chair:
Vice Chair: Dawn Jacobson, Meridian At Home

The Government Affairs Committee reviews state & national laws, regulations, and issues impacting home care and hospice. The committee develops priorities and makes recommendations for action and strategies to support lobbying efforts.

HOME HEALTH AIDE COMMITTEE
Chair: Ellen Stone, Preferred Home Health Care & Nursing Service
Vice Chair: Carol Ann Johnson, Secura

The Home Health Aide Committee considers issues related to home health aide services, education, recruitment, retention, regulation and legislation.      

HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE COMMITTEE
Co-Chair: Deb Hoppel, VNA of Somerset Hills
Co-Chair: Ellen Coughlin, BAYADA Home Health Care
Co-Chair: Frank Brady, Center for Hope Hospice

The Hospice Committee identifies and addresses hospice issues/opportunities and action items, develops and/or recommends hospice and palliative care educational programming, and develops tools/materials that will benefit hospice members.    

HOSPICE IDG COMMITTEE

Comprised of the Chair and Co-Chairs of the Hospice MSW, Chaplain/Bereavement, Volunteer, and Nurse Work Groups; this group will ensure collaboration between the different hospice work groups by promoting an interdisciplinary approach. 

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Chair: Michelle Mendelson, Meridian At Home

The Membership Committee focuses on current and prospective membership by assisting the Association to develop membership policies and member benefits, develop recruitment plans and identify strategies for Association growth and response to member needs. 

QUALITY & CLINICAL PRACTICE COMMITTEE
Chair: Judy Adamcski, VNA of Somerset Hills
Vice Chair: Julie Cowan, CommandCare

The Quality & Clinical Practice Committee addresses quality and practice-related issues and develops positions and strategies to maintain and improve quality in home care and hospice.  The Infection Control work group identifies issues and trends in infection control for the home care industry and meets as needed.

REHAB SERVICES COMMITTEE
Chair: Amabelle Daplin-Stech, Holy Name Home Care & Hospice
Vice Chair: Daniel Wilson, VNA of Somerset Hills

The Rehab Services Work Group addresses issues related to rehabilitative services in home care and hospices and to makes recommendations concerning practice.  Meets only as needed to address issues or work on special projects.

WORK GROUPS 

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS WORK GROUP
Chair: Doreen Germain, Barnabas Health Home Care
Vice Chair:
 Laura Cummings, VNA of Somerset Hills

The Emergency Preparedness work group assists with planning education and developing tools to facilitate agency preparedness and disaster recovery. 

MEDICAID WORK GROUP

The Medicaid Work Group focuses on all matters related to New Jersey’s transition to Medicaid managed care. Additionally, the work group identifies priorities to address with state agencies and policy makers in the Legislature pertinent to the administration of Medicaid services.


POPULATION HEALTH WORK GROUP
Chair: Lisa Salamone, VNA of Northern NJ

As Population Health and Behavioral Health are priorities for the Governor and several state departments, the Association is forming this work group to examine home care and hospice’s role in providing these necessary services to New Jersey’s patients.

TELEHEALTH WORK GROUP
Chair: Kyle Ann Sanicki, VNA Health Group

The Telehealth Work Group evaluates federal and state legislation to promote and analyze tele-monitoring services in New Jersey.

HOSPICE ROUNDTABLES 

Roundtables will meet in-person on a semiannual basis to allow professionals in each discipline to support each other and enhance practice through information sharing.
